FORCE11 is pleased to announce the appointment of six new members and a new Vice President to our Board of Directors. These additions strengthen our leadership and reflect our commitment to diverse expertise and perspectives.
Vice President
Bella Ratmelia has been appointed as FORCE11’s Vice President. Bella is a Research and Data Services Librarian at the Singapore Management University and has been a member of the FORCE11 Board since January 2025. Bella is chairing the FORCE2026 conference committee and makes substantial contributions to FORCE11’s outreach and communications. We are excited to work with her in this new role as we continue advancing conversations about innovation in scholarly communications across regions and disciplines.

Many of the new members have been involved with FORCE11 in different capacities, through the conference, FSCI, and even previous service on the Board – we are grateful for their continued engagement with FORCE11 in this new capacity. Together, they bring a breadth of expertise that will help shape FORCE11’s future priorities and initiatives.
Our Thanks to Outgoing Board Members
We are deeply grateful to our outgoing Board members and Vice President for their service and dedication. Their leadership helped steer FORCE11 through a period of significant change. Many thanks to the outgoing Board members for their contributions:
- Matt Buys supported updates to the FORCE11 website and served on the Code of Conduct committee
- Dan Katz served on the Nominations Committee
- Danny Kingsley served as the Chair of the Communications Committee for FORCE11, presented multiple courses throughout the history of the FSCI program, and co-led the FSCI archive committee
- Jennifer Miller served as Vice President and chair of the Code of Conduct committee, and led many engagement efforts, including the ongoing FORCE11 PREreview Club
- Mohamad Subhani supported the review of FORCE11 Working Group activities
- Caroline Coward served as Director for three years
