The Future of Research Communications and e-Scholarship

Peer Review
Are you interested in collaborating with others in FORCE11 to publish open peer reviews of pre-prints of research in metascience and scholarly communication? Efforts are underway to organize a club following PREreview’s club model.
We’re having our first planning meeting this Friday, August 15th, 5-6 PM US Pacific, midnight-1 AM UTC. We’ll also be scheduling a second planning meeting in a time zone convenient for Africa, Asia and Europe later this month. A handful of folks have already expressed their interest. It would be great to double that to two handfuls by the time we formally propose the club to the Board at the August meeting. We’re looking for folks interested in committing to either co-leadership (recruiting people to fill roles for each review), committing to take an active role (such as notetaker) in most reviews, or general participation in the reviews. Wondering what this would look like? You can see an example of the review we prepared at PREreview’s 2025 FSCI workshop, PREreview of Open data in autism research: the views of autistic people and parents of autistic children. Or click here to learn more about the PREReview Club model. To join this week’s call or to express your interest in the club, please complete this form and expect a response within one week.
