My experience as a librarian, records manager and communications consultant in facilitating access to useful information prompted me to go back and study how to get research into better use. I lived and worked in Africa from 1991 to 2022, completing a PhD at Stellenbosch University’s Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science and Technology, looking at the uptake of wildlife survey data in northern Botswana. Since 2022 I have been working at Knowledge Mobilization Specialist at the University of Saskatchewan for the Global Water Futures program, which is transitioning to Global Water Futures Observatories, a data-focused scientific freshwater observation network.
