Call for Nominations: FORCE11 Board of Directors

nominations

The FORCE11 Board of Directors is seeking several new members to join the Board for a three-year term starting in January 2026. We are looking for leaders and future leaders from our diverse global community to help advance FORCE11’s mission.

FORCE11 (Future of Research Communication and e-Scholarship) is committed to transforming scholarly communications to make them more open, trustworthy, and effective. We achieve this by convening members from the researcher, publisher, library, institutional, and research infrastructure communities, and through education, outreach, and working groups that guide community activities and provide insight on key transformational elements of our ecosystem.

We are looking for new members that help us complement the voices and skills within our Board, we particularly encourage nominations from individuals with expertise in the areas below:

  • Sustainability and fundraising, particularly in a nonprofit context
  • Policy development and advocacy
  • Technology management and digital infrastructure, and in particular, knowledge of website development and maintenance

We value and actively promote the diversity of our membership and strive to reflect that diversity in our Board. We invite nominations from all genders, ethnic groups, and backgrounds. Community members from any location may apply, and we particularly encourage nominations from those based in Africa, South America, and Oceania.

Interested colleagues are invited to self-nominate by submitting this form by Monday, November 3, 2025, at 21:00 UTC (22:00 CEST / 4:00 PM EST).

About the FORCE11 Board

The Board of Directors leads all operational and strategic activities at FORCE11. A significant part of this work involves engaging with volunteers who participate in activities such as working groups, the FORCE11 Conference, FSCI (FORCE11 Scholarly Communication Institute), fundraising, outreach, and communications.

Requirements: Board members are expected to contribute 5–10 hours per month to support FORCE11, attend monthly meetings, and actively participate in Board activities and at least one FORCE11 committee. Due to the global composition of the Board, members must be flexible in scheduling online meetings across time zones.

We look forward to receiving your nominations and welcoming your future involvement in our activities.

With kindest regards,

Iratxe Puebla
President, FORCE11 Board of Directors
