The FORCE2024 Conference will be held August 1-3, 2024 in Los Angeles at UCLA. \u00a0The conference will be held in-person only. More information is on the FORCE11 website.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the format for talks?<\/strong>
There will be presentations running in multiple tracks over the two and a half days. Presentations will be scheduled in 45 minute blocks based on shared themes.  You may propose a full panel of 45 minutes, short talks of 15-20 minutes (which will be combined based on shared themes), or lightning talks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our general recommendation is to prepare for 15-20 minutes of speaking time and 5-10 minutes of Q&A (that breakdown is just an idea…you will get 25 min and can use your 25 minutes however you like).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the theme of FORCE2024?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also want each talk to engage the community.  This will mean different things for each speaker.  It may mean crafting an interactive presentation. Or it could mean showcasing true\/tangible impact your work has made. Or maybe it’s making your talk fun and offering clear ways for the community to join your efforts, etc.  Regardless of how you accomplish this, let’s skip the boring stuff and make sure all talks are engaging!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme of FORCE2024 is driving transformation in scholarly communications locally and globally. Proposals should emphasize how presenters are engaging their local communities \u2013 worldwide \u2013 or how they will engage FORCE2024 participants.  While not exhaustive, we welcome sessions on the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
