FORCE11, the organization committed to transforming scholarly communications, is pleased to announce the newest members of the Board of Directors<\/a>. This group leads the operational and strategic decision-making activities of the association and ensures the execution of plans. A large part of this work involves engaging the volunteers who participate in the activities of FORCE11, such as working groups, the annual conference<\/a>, FSCI<\/a>, fundraising and other communications activities. Members of the Board participate in monthly meetings of the Board of Directors, engage actively in Board activities, and also engage in at least one of the subgroup activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caroline Coward<\/strong><\/a> is the supervisor of daily operations of the Library at NASA\u2019s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) where she collaborates with scientists, engineers, and mission specialists in areas such as information curation, knowledge management, and data archiving and retrieval. At JPL, Caroline leads efforts in organizing the Lab’s vast information stores, from physical processing and access, to blockchain applications, metadata, taxonomy, and ontology development, to developing new information initiatives Labwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Hammersley<\/strong><\/a> is VP Researcher and Community Engagement at Digital Science and is a co-founder of Overleaf, a London-based startup and social enterprise that builds modern collaborative authoring tools for scientists to help make science faster, more open and more transparent. Prior to Overleaf, John completed a PhD in Mathematical Physics at Durham University and helped design and build the world’s first driverless taxi system now operating at London’s Heathrow Airport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adam Hyde<\/strong><\/a> is a Coko Founder and Manager, Adam has worked in publishing for the past 14 years. Other projects Adam has founded include Pagedjs, Book Sprints, Booktype and FLOSS Manuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel S. Katz<\/strong><\/a> is Chief Scientist at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), Research Associate Professor in Computer Science (CS), Research Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Research Associate Professor in the School of Information Sciences (iSchool), and Faculty Affiliate in Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is also a Better Scientific Software (BSSw) Fellow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jennifer Miller<\/strong><\/a> is an independent scholar advancing open knowledge through a portfolio of projects in open data, open education, and open science. She holds a PhD in Public Policy and has over ten years of post-secondary teaching experience in policy analysis, economics, public management, and program evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iratxe Puebla<\/strong><\/a> is the Director of Strategic Initiatives & Community for ASAPbio. In her role, Iratxe works to foster awareness of preprints and drive community engagement, Iratxe also coordinates the ASAPbio Fellows program. Prior to ASAPbio, Iratxe worked in publishing for 16 years, she held editorial roles with Open Access publishers, initially at BioMed Central and then PLOS, where she was Deputy Editor-in-Chief at the journal PLOS ONE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MI Subhani<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>is Professor & Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences and the Director of Postgraduate Studies & Research at ILMA University. He holds a PhD in Financial Econometrics from IQRA University and was a Postdoc in Open Science at the University of Goi\u00e1s, Brazil. Dr. Subhani is currently serving as an ambassador for the Directory of Open Access Journals and is a member of the Society for Scholarly Publishing\u2019s Education Committee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
