\n\tTravelling by car<\/h3>\n

Oxford suffers from severe traffic congestion and limited parking so we recommend that if possible you use public transport when visiting the City.   If you are driving you may like to use one of the  Park and Ride <\/a>  facilities around the city.  We  recommend the number 300<\/strong> Park & Ride<\/strong><\/a> bus from either Redbridge or Peartree, as this stops almost immediately outside the Mathematical Institute.<\/p>\n

From London and the South-East <\/strong>
\n\tTake Junction 8 (A40) from the M40 and follow straight through towards the City Centre; turn right immediately past Magdalen Bridge.<\/p>\n

From the North <\/strong>
\n\tJunction 9 off the M40 leads to North Oxford.<\/p>\n

From the West <\/strong>
\n\tThe A40 also enters North Oxford, at the Banbury Road. Then approach via Parks Road.<\/p>\n

From the South or South-West <\/strong>
\n\tTake the A34 or A420 to the Botley interchange.<\/p>\n

\n\tParking<\/h3>\n

Parking is not available at the Mathematical Institute, however the city centre has a range of (expensive) car parking available. The nearest is on-street parking along St Giles, with a number of larger car parks on the other side of the city centre.  We highly recommend you use the number 300<\/strong> Park & Ride<\/strong><\/a> bus from either Redbridge or Peartree, as this stops almost immediately outside the Mathematical Institute.<\/p>\n

\n\tTravelling by rail<\/h3>\n

The Mathematical Institute is approximately 20 minutes' walk from the railway station. Taxi services are available outside the Station entrance.<\/p>\n

\n\tTravelling by coach<\/h3>\n

Express coach services run between Oxford and London (1-1½ hours), London Heathrow, Birmingham and other destinations nationwide.<\/p>\n

The Coach Station at Gloucester Green is approximately 15 minutes' walk from the Oxford e-Research Centre. Alternatively there is also a Taxi rank at Gloucester Green.<\/p>\n

\n\tTravelling by air<\/h3>\n

Oxford is conveniently reached by coach from Heathrow Airport (1¼ hours) or Gatwick Airport (2½ hours). There is a frequent bus service from Heathrow. See the bus company links above for details. Alternatively, there are a range of local taxi\/car firms <\/a>  who offer an airport transfer service.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
