Summary
There is a clear need for data repositories and journals to work more closely together to streamline and harmonize workflows for data sharing. Currently, each industry’s practices prove to be at odds in many circumstances. Communication between these groups may lead to a better understanding of processes and, ideally, modernized and compatible procedures that make data sharing easier for repositories, journals, and researchers.
Goals & deliverables
The goal of this working group is to prioritize cross-industry collaboration. We envision a few possible outputs that will foster this partnership and carve a path forward:
- A list of challenges for each group that fosters understanding
- A set of guidelines for repositories and journals – for example, via a white paper or publishable commentary
